This mural was painted as part of the 11th annual "Fiest Boriqua" 2004, and dedicated to Lolita Legron. "A bead from Lolita's rosary polished by her prayers for the homeland." Seigned and painted by Gamaliel Ramirez, Assistance by Star Padilla, Luis Ortiz, Moncho, Melissa Cintron, members of the community and the youth on the corner of Division and Campbell. This project was sponsored by Gamaliel Ramirez Studios, Near Northwest Neighhborohood Network. Batey Urbano and Arci-treasure. The mural depicts some famous people including National Puerto Rican icon Lolita Lebrón, Pedro Pietri, and Don Pedro Albizu Campos, the leader of the Puerto Rican Independence Movement who is depicted as a bronze statue on the left of the image.Add to Lightbox Download
